Short Biography:

Dr. Reza Abdolee is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer & Electrical and Computer Science, California State Uninversity, Bakersfield (CSUB). He received his Ph.D. in Computer and Electrical Engineering in 2014 from McGill University, Montreal, Cananda.

Prior to joining to CSUB, Dr. Abdolee has worked as a Senior System Engineer at Qualcomm Inc. for two years. In this position, he has worked with many talented and creative individuals in Qualcomm in design and modeling of digital subsystems and system-on-chips (SOC) parts, which is used in many wireless/mobile communication devices. In 2012, he was at Bell Lab, Alcatel Lucent Company (now acquired by Nokia Inc.) in Stuttgart, Germany. The focus of his work at Alcatel-Lucent was on IoT and the development of advanced signal processing algorithms for the new generation of wireless communication systems and LTE/4G standard. In 2011, Dr. Abdolee has served as a research scholar at Adaptive System Laboratory (ASL) in University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). His contribution in this Lab. leaded to several new algorithms and provided tools for performance analysis of distributed optimization strategies for behavior prediction of sensor networks and IoT systems. His close collaboration with Prof. Ali H. Sayed at ASL ended in numerous peer-reviewed articles published at IEEE Transactions Journals and conferences.

During the past few years, Dr. Abdolee research resulted in several patents and inventions in the area of wireless communications and Internet of Things. He invented a wireless communication system architecture that can significantly enhance the link reliability, data rate and capacity of today's communication systems. He patented a new dynamic reconfigurable hardware to enhance the security of IoT and current wireless devices. His wireless biometric sensor invention in the area of IoTree (agriculture) will help growers/farmers to combat the adverse impact of global warming on crop's yields. Dr. Abdolee strives to help the local community and industries to speed up their advancement in today’s fast changing technology and align themself with the accelerating pace of bussinesse. His excellent work and outstanding academic achievements were recognized around the globe, particularly, in the US, Canada, Germany and Malaysia. He has been the winner of several prestigious scholarships and awards, including, NSERC postgraduate award, FQRNT Doctoral Research Scholarship, DAAD-RISE Professional Scholarship, ReSMiQ Supplementary Scholarship and SYTACom Industrial Collaboration Award.
