Dr Amin Malek
About Me
Dr. Malek is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer and Electrical Engineering at California State University. He specializes in digital communications (optical communications), cloud computing, AWS architecture, and generative AI. His research explores cloud-native systems, AI-driven applications, and large-scale data infrastructures, with an emphasis on distributed computing, automation, and performance optimization. Before joining CSUB, Dr. Malek served at the University of Nottingham as an Assistant Professor (2010–2013), Associate Professor (2013–2017), and Professor (2017–2018). He has supervised four Ph.D. students and ten master’s students to completion. Dr. Malek has published more than 110 peer-reviewed scientific articles, authored a book, and holds four patents. His earlier work in digital and optical communications laid the foundation for his current research on intelligent, high-performance computing architectures that bridge academic innovation and industrial application.
